and the Tennessee artists who create it from copyright theft by artificial intelligence (AI), effective Thursday.

The Equalizing Voice and Image Protection (ELVIS) Act prevents people from using AI 

to replicate an artist's voice without their permission.

The new law adds the artist's voice to existing image and likeness protections in Tennessee.

The ELVIS Act was introduced in January and received sponsors in the form of Representative William Lamberth and Senator Jack Johnson.

Bills HB 2091/SB 2096 were both fully approved by state House and Senate members

as of March 7 and now await the Governor's signature.
